An enchanting seaside city with boundless culture and fabled architecture
It's no wonder why Barcelona celebrates its reputation as one of the most attractive cities in Europe. Whether you are into gastronomy and wine, lovely sandy beaches, Picasso, Miró and Dali, world-class architecture, shopping or the active life with gold tennis and even skiing, Barcelona has it all. Barcelona's architectural treasures span 2000-plus years. It is characterised by stunning architectural diversity from the medieval marvels of the Gothic Quarter to the Catalan Modernist works Antoni Gaudí, and a wealth of museums and galleries at every corner. Barcelona has also long inspired artists, including Pablo Picasso and Joan Miró, both of whom have major Barcelona museums devoted to their works. A centrepiece of Barcelona's culture is undeniably its food. Feast on hearty, rich paella at an outdoor table overlooking the sea, eat simple, flavourful ingredients in one of the many open air markets or step back to the 1920s at an elegant art nouveau dining room. There is no down season to visit Barcelona and this multifaceted city will be the perfect place for your romantic, family, cultural, relaxation, and culinary getaways.
