Pantone Colour of the year: Viva Magenta

Pantone have announced their colour of the year for 2023; 18-1750 Viva Magenta.
Whilst Viva Magenta isn’t heavily featured within our properties, magenta and other shades of red are, and hugely influence the feel and energy of our homes. In Barcelona for example, the ceiling is of a mediterranean burnt orange that was inspired by the city itself. Barcelonian architecture is varied, and bold, a city of influences and colours that needed to be felt throughout the apartment.
Our Chamonix apartment features the warmth of red in the bedrooms, to take the edge off the cold winter mountains and develop a cosy space. Painting the cupboards and storage in a similar terracotta red, mixed with the alpine wood, lends itself to comfort all year round regardless of weather.
Whilst we have not incorporated such a colour into an August home, there are plenty of ways to do so. The bright and playful nature of this shade is perfect for a kid's space, and it can be paired with other playful colours such as yellow or green for a fun and energetic atmosphere.
Or alternatively, in a bathroom, Viva Magenta could be used to add a splash of colour to a typically neutral space. It can be incorporated into the design through towels, shower curtains, or even the walls or tiles. The bold hue will add a sense of playfulness and cheer to the room, making it a more sensory space to be in.
We look forward to sharing our design and interior inspiration, as well as some insights into how the August team develop our properties soon.
