Grand Pied à Terre Collection

Set on the first floor of an elegant 19th-century building on one of the Marais's most quietly distinguished streets, this home balances classic architecture with a contemporary sensibility. The interiors open beneath original mouldings and tall windows that draw soft light deep into every room, lending a sense of volume and calm that feels unmistakably Parisian. Parquet flooring runs throughout, grounding the space in tradition, while the kitchen's French café-style tiling offers a subtle nod to everyday neighbourhood life. Ornate glass chandeliers, a modern interpretation of period detail, bring lightness and warmth without formality. This home is designed for both lingering mornings and long evenings with friends.

Rue de Birague is one of those Parisian addresses that reveals itself slowly. Just 81 metres long, it connects the lively hum of Rue Saint-Antoine with the timeless symmetry of Place des Vosges, a vaulted passage framing the square like a painting. First laid out in the early 17th century as part of the original plan for the Place Royale, the street retains its signature Louis XIII character: red brick façades, limestone accents, and centuries-old cobblestones underfoot. Today, independent boutiques, ateliers, and intimate cafés sit within this historic frame, lending the street a rhythm that feels apart from the busier lanes nearby. The atmosphere is refined yet relaxed; it is steeped in charm without ever feeling performative.
Head of Design
We saw the chandeliers as the first real move- something that felt classic and statement, but not too old school. That balance between classic and contemporary is what Paris feels like. Anything we could hold on to, like the kitchen floor or the original parquet in the bedrooms, we were very clear on keeping. It may be worn or slightly imperfect, but that's exactly where the character comes from.
