A Year With August Collections: The Finest Homes Of 2024

With our first Rome apartment coming to fruition in 2024, alongside new Collection additions in London, Cannes, Barcleona and Paris, this year was a wonderful time for city lovers to explore the most effervescent neighbourhoods in Europe. Well-appointed and beautifully refreshed to elevate every element of cosmopolitan living, here are the properties we added to our Pied À Terre portfolio.

Southwell Gardens: An Elegant Urban Retreat In London

Boasting anmuch-coveted S7 postcode, the design team breathed new life into the 2-bed, 2-bath apartment in one of London's finest neighbourhoods. The first complete property of the St Germain Collection resides on the second floor of a charming traditional Victorian building, this 77 sq/m urban retreat with iconic high ceilings and sash windows, embodies London's character and exudes the sublime architecture of the area. The home went live in February and wowed Homeowners with its refined, contemporary aesthetic, filled with natural light and primed for London living.

Odeon: Prime, Lofty Living In Paris

In the same St Germain Collection, we welcomed a new Parisian apartment. Nestled on the vibrant 6th arrondissement on the fourth floor of a six-storey 19th-century building that is a testament to Haussmann style, the lofty Paris apartment has been putting August Homeowners at the heart of la ville d'amour since April. Lofty, corniced ceilings complemented with ceiling roses, an exquisite stained-glass window and original chevron parquet flooring – which we sanded and stained back to life – anchor the home in tradition. Even pre-restoration, the space provided a beautiful blank canvas.

Trafalgar: An Ode To Gaudì In Barcelona

Our beautifully eclectic Barcelona apartment launched in May, the final St Germain Collection addition of the year, and lives in an elegant third-floor abode in bustling Eixample neighbourhood. Its intimate balcony overlooks a quiet, leafy boulevard, on the edge of the verdant oasis of Parc de la Ciutadella, then step inside to immerse yourself in bright colours and forms that nod to Gaudì and more of the Catalan capital's flair. Even with a just 101 square meters to work with, the design team brought the property back to life, restoring wooden beams, picture windows and French doors for a renovation story like no other.

Monti: A Contemporary Rome Dwelling Steeped In History

We welcomed the inaugural Rome Pied À Terre apartment with aplomb in October. Completing the much-loved Monti Collection, the characterful two-bedroom home is nestled on a quiet street at the heart of Rome's most historic district, Monti, and offers a perfect blend of tranquility and prime urban living. Occupying the second floor of a five-story building, thoughtful renovations have restored the 106 square meter space, allowing natural light to flood in and bring energy to a new configuration. Complete with large plank wood flooring, art and more contemporary touches, a timeless aesthetic shines through.

The open plan living room of our Barcelona, St Germain Collection apartment boasts a cobalt blue couch and orange accents for a unique, artistic finish.

The first home of our fifth Signature Collection, Les Virettes, this Provencal home was built in the 70s and is brimming with modern, rustic allure. Beginning with a stunning addition to our third Signature Collection, Violettes, this captivating five-bedroom farmhouse stands out as a testament to refined Italian living. This Chalet apartment went live in May in charming Megève. It was the first of the fourth Signature Collection, Picholines, and elegantly captures the mountainous beauty that surrounds. Artà: An Imposing Mallorca Townhouse

In June, we bolstered the sunny season with our imposing Artà townhouse, primed for conviviality and hedonism. Part of the Picholines Collection, this property has been poetically redefined. Built in 1915, it is rich in Mallorca stonework, with polished concrete floors throughout and gives a sense of the region's distincitve architectural style. From the near-Premium size square footage to the unobstructed views of the Serres de Llevant mountains, the design team had the perfect canvas to accentuate with the August touch.

Via Gavine: A Jewel In The Tuscan Landscape

A restored Tuscan farmhouse in the rolling hills of Buggiano Castello was the perfect complement to Picholines. Going live to Homeowners in July 2024, the dream-like exterior colour was inspired by a colour seen in the local town and sublimely set off the verdant rolling hills that surround. Complete with a pool, summer terrace, spacious lounge areas, beautifully restored bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen, the home boasts a modern farmhouse aesthetic and is one-of-a-kind.
